Conflicted interests (Val)

So what now? I thought to myself, as I swam around in the sparkling water. It was a hot day, and there was no much more I could do, other than swim or sun myself. My days once were filled with hunting and adventures, but now, this Val character was taking care of me. Normally, I would jump in and take care of myself, but meh. What's the point of working, when someone wants to work for me? 

I slowly pulled myself put of the refreshing water, and lay on the bank, drying in the sun. I sighed, and exhaled deeply, lost in thought. What am I sticking around for? I asked myself. Val and I were in the dating stage. I was testing his boundaries, and seeing if he could Handel a free spirit like myself. I was in no way looking for a pride at the moment, I wanted a no-strings-attached relationship would be OK, but it's not often I come by those.

Valerian walked to the river bed and sat down, smiling as he watched his girlfriend swim. She was a wild thing, but beautiful. I growled to let her know i was close and then i dropped a paw to the water. "Hello" I rumbled.

"Hey" I responded, coming out of the water, shaking the dampness out of my fur. I greeted him with a rub, and then went back swimming, purring to invite him in.
